About Our Oak Desks

Our beautiful and bespoke rustic oak desks are designed and handcrafted in-house to any shape or size by our experts from our timber yard and workshop in Plumpton Green, Sussex, just a short drive from London or Brighton. Our stunning and unique earthy oak desks are stunning and unique in every way showing off their beautiful autumnal tones and earthy grains guaranteeing to bring a strong sense of the outdoor in.

We use earthy oak full stave, wide stave slabs that we exclusively source from sustainable forests and woodlands across the UK, we then vacuum kiln dry them on-site to ensure protection against warping and disfigurement. We then hand pick each slab to suit the desired environment and purpose and look for its unique natural imperfections such as the knots, cracks and striations. We then infuse these imperfections with our own blend of epoxy resin to create stunning glassy details full of character and charm. We offer three edging options, each with their own unique properties. For a more rural and rustic appeal, we can offer our live or waney edging, which follows the natural shape of the tree. For a more modern and contemporary approach, we can offer the traditional straight or square edging style or we can offer a combination of both edging styles known as our ‘mixed edging’.

Our stunning oak desks are suitable for all types of environments whether it be a modern and contemporary office in the city or a rural and rustic home. Wit the right finishing, our desks can be crafted to suit commercial spaces. We offer two finishing options that protect and aid your surface against damage and corrosion. We offer an oil-based finishing which enhances the natural colourings and tones and penetrates the timber to create multiple layers of protection throughout, or a clear lacquer that acts as a thick shield over the top. Our lacquer finishing is ideal for those wishing to retain the original earthy tones and colourings.

We highly encourage our customers to buy our own table legs, this is because unlike many on the market, our legs are individually crafted to suitably support the exact weight and size of your oak desk tops. Our legs are available with a variety of different shapes and sizes for you to choose from, whether it’s a trapezium shaped matching wooden leg or a U shaped raw steel leg.

We can offer any of our other solid wooden furniture  alongside our live edge oak desks such as our bespoke oak shelving, solid wood window sills, rustic tables and kitchen worktops. When you buy two or more of our unique bespoke pieces of oak furniture, we can craft them from the same tree to make a unique bespoke set of furniture for your home or office space.

We expect each unique wood desk to take around one month to complete, this is because our desk surfaces are completely bespoke with no other 3^rd parties involved. We do everything ourselves from commission to delivery. We also like to ensure that each of our oak desks are crafted the highest quality.
