About Our Reclaimed Wooden Desks

Our reclaimed wooden desks are designed and hand-crafted in-house by our timber experts from our timber yard and workshop in Plumpton Green, Sussex, just a short drive from London or Brighton. Our stunning range of reclaimed wooden desks are designed to add a unique, artistic and quirky appeal to your home or business showing off unique and stunning colours and smooth glossy surfaces.

We craft our stunning reclaimed wooden desk tops using offcuts and remnants of our earthy hardwood slabs which we exclusively source rom sustainable forests and woodlands across the UK. We then vacuum kiln dry the slabs to ensure maximum stability and protection against natural distortion and infuse the natural imperfections of the timber such as the knots, cracks and striations with epoxy resin. We hand-pick each unique section of our reclaimed wooden tables to highlight the unique earthy elements and fuse everything together with epoxy resin to create a glossy surface. We then finish the surface with either a clear transparent lacquer which acts as a thick barrier against corrosion, or an oil finishing which penetrates the timber to create multiple layers of protection throughout. The oil-based finishing also enhances the natural colours to create more vivid shades or oranges and golds.

Our unique reclaimed wooden desks are available with any of our edging styles, though for a more common and more suited style, we recommend our straight/ square edging for a more modern and contemporary feel. Alternatively, we can offer our unique live/ waney edging or a combination of both edging styles known as our mixed edging. We highly recommend you buy our own legs for your unique reclaimed desk; this is because unlike many on the market, our legs are individually crafted to support the approximate weight and size of your desk. Our legs are available in a variety of different shapes and materials from U shaped stainless steel to T shaped matching wood.

Our bespoke reclaimed wooden desks are suitable for all environments whether it be for home use or for a modern and contemporary office space. We can also craft our contemporary reclaimed desks alongside any of our other solid wooden furniture, such as our shelving, windowsills, cabinet tops, tables and kitchen furniture. We can craft you a unique bespoke set of matching furniture to suit any environment for any purpose.

We estimate that each reclaimed wooden desk will take around one month to complete. This is because our processes are completely unique with no other third parties involved.
