About Our Sycamore Slab Tops

Our bespoke and beautiful range of earthy sycamore slabs are designed and hand-crafted in-house by our experts using high quality sycamore timber that we exclusively source from sustainable woodlands and forests across the UK. Our earthy sycamore slabs are suitable for crafting dining tables, coffee tables, shelving, breakfast bars, kitchen islands, worktops and more.

Each unique sycamore slab is vacuum kiln dried in-house to ensure stability and protection against distortion and natural warping. We exclusively hand pick each individual sycamore slab for its beautiful natural features, such as the knots, markings, splits and striations. We then infuse each natural imperfection with epoxy resin to create unique glassy details full of character and interest. Alternatively, we can leave your surface raw with no resin infill if you wish to finish your slab at home.

We can include any of our stunning edging styles, whether it be the more traditional straight or square edging style, or the iconic waney or live edging which follows the natural shape of the tree. Alternatively, we can offer our mixed edging which combines elements of both edging styles. Our edging styles each individually transform their desired environment.

Our unique sycamore slabs are available to buy raw and unfinished or with our own finishing. We offer two types of finishing, each with their own protective properties. We offer an oil-based protection which works by perforating the timber surface and creating several layers of protection throughout. It also enhances the natural colourings to create bright shades of golds and oranges. Alternatively, for those wishing to retain the original colours and tones, we can offer our lacquer finishing which instead acts as a transparent thick shield.

We estimate that each solid sycamore slab will take around one month to craft and finish. This is because our process is complete unique and bespoke. We do everything all under one roof from kiln drying to hand crafting. We also like to ensure that each of our solid wooden furniture commissions are crafted to the highest quality. Once your omission is complete, it will then be ready for either dedicated deliver or collection by appointment from our Sussex based workshop.
