Our beautiful and bespoke wild walnut river desktops are designed and hand-crafted by our in-house experts from our timber yard and workshop in Plumpton Green Sussex. We craft our bespoke wild walnut river desktops using our collection of full stave, wide stave slabs that we exclusively source from sustainable forests and woodlands across the UK, we then vacuum kiln dry them timber on site to ensure stability and protection against warping and distortion. Each unique and bespoke slab is hand picked to match and compliment its intended purpose and environment. We look for the most beautiful slabs that display natural imperfections, such as the knots, cracks and striations. We then infill these imperfections with epoxy resin to create stunning glassy details inspired by nature. Our wild walnut river desktops are available with any of our edging styles. Each unique edging design brings its own style to your environment. Our most unique and iconic waney or live edging style brings a more natural and rustic appeal and follows the natural edging shape of the tree. For a more modern and contemporary appeal, we can offer our straight or square edging or alternatively, we can combine the two edging styles to create a more subtle approach to the waney edging style known as our ‘mixed edging’.

We offer two finishing options to protect your solid walnut desk, either a clear lacquer which creates a thick shield over the surface, or a colour enhancing oil which perforates the timber to create multiple layers of protection.

When two or more of our solid walnut furniture products are commissioned together, we can craft them from the same tree to make a bespoke set of truly matching furniture.
