Our beautiful bespoke earthy oak kitchen islands are designed and hand-crafted by our experts from our timber yard and workshop in Plumpton Green, Sussex, just a short drive from London or Brighton. Our beautiful and unique oak kitchen islands add an earthy warmth to your home or business and a strong sense of organic elegance. We craft out stunning oak kitchen islands using stunning oakslabs that we exclusively source from sustainable forests and woodlands across the UK. We then vacuum kiln dry our full stave, wide stave slabs to ensure stability and maximum protection against warping and distortion. We hand pick each unique oak slab considering its purpose and desired environment whilst looking for its unique characteristics, such as the knots, cracks and striations. We then infuse these natural imperfections with epoxy resin to create stunning glassy details inspired by nature. We offer three main edging options, either the more tradition straight/ square edging for a more modern and contemporary feel, or our waney/ live edging for a more rural and rustic appeal. Alternatively, we can offer our mixed edging for a combination of both edging styles. We will then give you the option of two main finishing options for you to choose from, either a water-based oil finishing which protects your surface be penetrating the timber and creating multiple layers of protection throughout. Our oil finishing also enhances the natural colourings to create stunning shades of golds and oranges. Alternatively, we can finish your solid oak kitchen island with our lacquer finishing which acts as a thick barrier against damage and corrosion. Unlike our oil finishing our lacquer finishing maintains the original earthy tones and textures.

We can craft your sold oak kitchen island alongside any of our other solid wooden furniture items, such as our oak worktops, breakfast bars, shelving, tables and windowsills. If two or more of our oak furniture is bought together, we can create a beautiful unique set of matching furniture for your home by using the same tree.

We estimate that each oak kitchen island will take around one month to complete, this is because our products are completely 100% bespoke. Unlike our competitors, we do everything under one roof, and we like to ensure that each of our solid wooden kitchen islands is crafted to the highest quality. Once your bespoke commission is complete, we will then contact you to let your know it is ready for either dedicated delivery or collection from our workshop.
