We craft our wild walnut river kitchen islands using unique wild walnut full stave, wide stave slabs that we exclusively source from sustainable forests and woodlands across the UK. We then vacuum kiln dry them on-site to ensure longevity and protection against warping and disfigurement. We hand pick each slab ourselves, taking into account its desired environment and purpose, we look for the most unique planks that show off their unique natural imperfections, such as the knots, cracks and striations, we then infuse them with epoxy resin to create stunning glassy details full of character and interest. To create the iconic river effect, we use two live edged slabs set apart and we infill the very middle with epoxy resin to create a beautiful glossy smooth river. Our stunning wild walnut kitchen islands are available with waney or live edging, which follows the natural shape of the tree for a more rural and rustic appeal, or for a more modern and contemporary approach, we can offer the traditional straight edge style. Alternatively, we can offer our mixed edging which combines both edging styles.

Our bespoke walnut river islands are suitable for all environments, whether it be a rural and rustic styled cottage or pub, or a modern and contemporary apartment, restaurant, coffee shop, hotel or office spaces. Our solid wooden furniture is easily adaptable to suit all types of venues with the right finishing. We offer two finishing options for you to choose from. We can finish your surface with an oil-based solution which works itself into the timber and create several protective layers throughout. It also enhances the natural colours and tones to create brilliant shades of orange and gold. For those wishing to retain the original earthy tones, we can offer our lacquer protection which acts as a thick shield against damage and corrosion.

Our unique walnut river kitchen islands are also available to buy alongside any of our other walnut products, such as our walnut breakfast bars, worktops, shelving, tables and window seats and if two or more of our solid wooden products are bought together, we can craft them from the same tree. We expect each of our solid wooden products to take around one month to complete, this is because our process is 100% bespoke and unlike no other. We do everything all under none roof with no other parties involved. We also like to ensure each of our solid walnut surfaces are crafted to the highest quality and handled with the greatest care.
